The NIA investigation into Pakistan High Commission officials allegedly routing moneyto Hurriyat leaders in the Valley through Hawala has now found a link with suspended Jammu and Kashmir DSP Davinder Singh, who is also under investigation by the agency.

Sources in the establishment said Pakistan High Commission has allegedly been involved in two cases investigated by NIA which has nailed evidence against their officials.

The role of Shafaqat, Assistant in Pakistan High Commission has now come under the scanner in connection with the case of J&K police DSP Davinder Singh. NIA, during its investigations in the case pertaining to the apprehension of Davinder Singh, accused the DSP of J&K police and Irfan Shafi Mir, HM Commander Naveed Mushtaq and Rafi Ahmad.Interrogation has revealed that the accused persons were in constant touch with a Pak High Commission official identified as Shafaqat. He was allegedly a conduit for hawala transactions and terror financing. The NIA will file its charge sheet in the DSP Davinder Singh case in Jammu court in first week of July. Davinder is currently in Kathua's Hiranagar jail.

National Investigation Agency has been investigating the J&K terror funding case(2017). During the investigation, it was revealed that accused Zahoor AhmadShah Watali (A-10) was one of the main channels through which the ISI officials and the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi used to route funding to various Hurriyat leaders.

During searches conducted at the premises of Zahoor Watali, one document was recovered in whichthe details of transactions of the funding to various Hurriyat leaders werementioned including the details of money received from Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. The name of one Iqbal Cheema was also mentioned.

As per the document on 15.3.2016, HCP (High Commission of Pakistan) in New Delhi gave Rs. 30 Lacsto Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali and on 20.10.2016, HCP (High Commission of Pakistan) in New Delhi gave Rs. 40 Lacs to Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali through Iqbal Cheema.

Mudassar Iqbal Cheema was posted in Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi from 23.9.2015 to 2.11.2016 as First Secretary (Press). on 2.11.2016 Mudassar Iqbal Cheema along with 5 other officials of Pakistan High Commission in India were withdrawn bythe Pakistani Government on their own. During his stay, Mudassar Iqbal Cheema used to act as one of the main conduits who transferred funds to variousHurriyat leaders through accused Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali.

Earlier in June, two under cover agents of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (|SI) had to leave India after their cover was blown by a joint operation by police and counter-espionage agencies in New Delhi.

Abid Hussain and Muhammad Tahir were living in New Delhi under the guise of consular officials of the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi.
